Support for women’s and youth ice hockey

Latvia’s leading pharmaceutical manufacturer, JSC Olpha, is actively involved in promoting public health and the development of sports, with a special focus on women’s and youth ice hockey in Latvia.

The company’s cooperation with the Latvian Ice Hockey Federation (LHF) began in 2023, when JSC Olpha became a sponsor of Latvia’s U-20 national team at the IIHF World Championship Division I Group A in Gothenburg, Sweden. In 2024, JSC Olpha expanded its support by becoming the main sponsor for the Latvian women’s national hockey team at the IIHF Women’s World Championship Division I Group B, which took place in Riga from March 31 to April 6.

Continuing this support, in December 2024, JSC Olpha was also the main sponsor for the women’s team’s participation in the Olympic Qualification Tournament in Sheffield, United Kingdom.

JSC Olpha’s commitment to women’s and youth ice hockey in Latvia marks a significant step forward in sports development, fostering equal opportunities and inspiring the younger generation to pursue ambitious goals—both in sports and in life.

The company also supported the Latvian U-20 team during the IIHF World Championship Division I Group A in Canada, held from December 26 to January 5, as well as Latvia’s U-18 girls’ and boys’ teams at both local and international tournaments in spring 2025.

JSC Olpha Chairman of the Board, Juris Bundulis, emphasizes that hockey is more than just a sport—it is a platform that symbolizes Latvia’s strength, resilience, and unity. “Supporting women’s and youth hockey is an investment in a future where Latvian athletes—regardless of gender or age—can reach their full potential and inspire others to lead more active lives and follow their dreams.”
