Recognizing that sports form a solid foundation for building a healthier and more inclusive society, "Mēness aptieka" has partnered with the Latvian Paralympic Committee, investing more than €400,000 over the past four years in the development of parasports movement for children, youth, and adults across Latvia. This support has made it possible for people with disabilities to continue participating in sports – for both health and high-performance goals.
The assistance provided has supported daily training for children and young people, as well as the organization of Parasport Day, which gathers hundreds of individuals with disabilities to compete in various individual and team sports suited to their abilities. The funding has also enabled other health-related activities, including classes and health checks at "Mēness aptieka" “Health Stations,” and has helped athletes take part in competitions both in Latvia and abroad – where their hard work has led to significant victories for the country’s parasport athletes.
"Mēness aptieka" is also a long-time health partner and supporter of the Riga Rimi Marathon. In 2024, the company helped launch the new “Inclusive Marathon” initiative, giving people with functional impairments and their assistants the opportunity to join the city’s signature running event. More than one hundred "Mēness aptieka" employees, along with their families and members of the Children and Youth Parasport Association, took part in various marathon distances as part of the company’s team.
