Responding to the evolving needs and digital habits of people in Latvia, the creators of the Veselība loyalty programme – Centrālā laboratorija, Mēness aptieka, and Veselības centru apvienība – have significantly expanded the functionality of the veseliba.lv digital platform by introducing a range of new services and features. Through the platform, users can now book appointments with doctors and specialists, schedule laboratory tests and access their results, view their e-prescriptions and referrals, and reserve medications online at pharmacies – all in one place. Approximately EUR 80,000 has been invested in the platform's development and the implementation of these new digital solutions.
"The launch of the veseliba.lv platform marks an important step towards a more integrated and patient-centred healthcare system. By investing strategically in the quality, accessibility, and digitalisation of healthcare services, we aim to ensure that people can access the healthcare services they need quickly, conveniently, and all in one place. Today, the digitalisation of healthcare is one of the key drivers of the sector's development both in Latvia and across Europe. Patients increasingly expect not only high-quality in-person care but also a secure, user-friendly digital environment that enables them to manage their healthcare process remotely. They want easy access to up-to-date health information, the ability to take a proactive approach to their wellbeing, make informed decisions about preventive care, and save valuable time," says Vilma Fairclough, chairwoman of the board of the Repharm.
She adds that the platform's functionality and services have been designed with a strong focus on patients' real needs, everyday habits, and growing expectations for healthcare services that are simpler, faster, and more convenient to access.
Trends and data show that the way people access healthcare services has been changing in recent years, driven by the increasing availability of electronic health records across Europe. One of the European Union's strategic objectives is to ensure that all EU citizens have access to their digital health data by 2030.
Data from the "Veselība" loyalty programme also indicates a growing preference for digital services, with more people using online solutions to book appointments, pay for healthcare services, and access their medical results. At "Veselības centru apvienība", for example, more than 40% of specialist appointments are now booked electronically. Meanwhile, the NielsenIQ Pharmacy Shopper Survey Latvia 2025 found that 78% of respondents plan to purchase pharmacy products online.
These trends highlight the increasing demand among people in Latvia for digitally accessible healthcare services and the ability to manage their health information and healthcare remotely.
The veseliba.lv platform offers a combination of healthcare services for people in Latvia, bringing together online medication reservations, access to e-prescriptions, and laboratory test results in one place. By integrating these frequently used services into a single digital platform, it simplifies the patient journey, saves time, and makes healthcare more convenient. Optimised for mobile devices, the platform also provides quick and easy access to personal health information.
In addition to these digital services, members of the "Veselība" loyalty programme can earn reward points on eligible purchases and healthcare services, which can later be redeemed towards future purchases or services. The programme also offers additional benefits for seniors, people with disabilities, holders of the Honour Family Card, and other eligible groups. Users can also take advantage of personalised offers and exclusive promotions available through the platform on a regular basis.
