For the fifth time, “Mēness aptieka” has received recognition from the international Best Places to Work programme, highlighting the company as a modern pharmaceutical care provider valued by both customers and employees. An analysis of key workplace factors shows that, over the past five years, the most significant improvements have been achieved in employee engagement, social responsibility and management. Teamwork and interpersonal relationships remain among “Mēness aptieka’s” strongest and most enduring qualities.
“Experience and relationships with people take time to develop in the pharmacy profession, and the work of our pharmacists and pharmacy assistants is a daily responsibility towards the people we serve. As one of the largest employers in the sector, we are proud to provide stable, modern workplaces for more than 1,300 employees across all regions of Latvia. Our priority is to create an environment where every professional can see opportunities for their future career development and feel a sense of belonging. Valued and motivated professionals are the foundation of high-quality, accessible pharmaceutical care for everyone in Latvia,” says Jeļena Petrišina, Member of the Board of “Mēness aptieka”.
Long-term security and stability are also becoming increasingly important factors when choosing an employer, alongside equal treatment and work–life balance. These trends are reflected in “Mēness aptieka” employees’ assessments: over the past five years, the rating for equal opportunities for career development has reached 94.5%, while the assessment of pay equality between women and men has also improved significantly.
“It is important to us that our employees feel heard and valued. Over the past five years, employee satisfaction with overall remuneration and the support provided by the company has increased significantly. We are pleased to offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes competitive pay, health insurance, professional development and training opportunities, as well as flexible working arrangements,” says Baiba Pedraudze, HR Director at “Mēness aptieka”.
At the same time, strong collegial relationships and teamwork, managers’ integrity and ethical conduct, an understanding of employees’ work, and regular feedback continue to be highly valued within the “Mēness aptieka” team. Over the past five years, employee assessments of the clarity of the company’s long-term strategy and the openness of its communication have also improved.
About "Best Places To Work”
“Best Places to Work” is one of Europe’s leading programmes for employers, including companies in the pharmaceutical sector, offering an independent assessment of the workplace environment. To date, “Mēness aptieka” is the only pharmaceutical care provider in Latvia to have successfully renewed this international certification for five consecutive years, improving its assessment results each time. The certification recognises the world’s best workplaces based on employees’ satisfaction with company management, values, people management, remuneration and benefits, colleagues and workplace culture, work–life balance, and the company’s impact on society.
