“Mēness aptieka” ranks among Latvia’s most loved brands and is named the country’s most loved pharmacy brand for the 13th time

For the 13th time, people in Latvia have named “Mēness aptieka” their most loved pharmacy brand. In the overall ranking of Latvia’s most loved brands, “Mēness aptieka” has achieved a strong 11th place this year. According to the latest “Brand Capital” study, “Mēness aptieka” holds a clear leading position in its sector and has also received the highest ratings among pharmacy brands for quality and people-centred approach.

In this year’s study, “Mēness aptieka” stands out not only for receiving the highest rating in the most loved pharmacy brand category. People in Latvia have also recognised it as the highest-rated pharmacy brand in terms of quality and people-centred approach, while more than half of respondents said they would choose “Mēness aptieka” if visiting a pharmacy. This year, the study assessed brand reputation as employers for the first time, and “Mēness aptieka” was also among the highest-rated pharmacy brands in this category.

“We are truly proud of and grateful for this trust. For the 13th time, people in Latvia have named “Mēness aptieka” their most loved pharmacy brand. Above all, this recognition reflects the knowledge, professionalism and attitude of our pharmacists towards every person. We are particularly proud that “Mēness aptieka” is a Latvian company that has earned such a high level of trust and appreciation in the overall ranking of Latvia’s most loved brands. We are from Latvia, we operate in Latvia, employ people across the country and are committed to supporting the health of people in Latvia every day. That is why this recognition is especially meaningful to us. It demonstrates that people value our work, personal approach, warmth, genuine care and our commitment to the people of Latvia,” says Jeļena Petrišina, Member of the Management Board and Pharmacist at “Mēness aptieka”.

For many people, a pharmacy is often the first place they turn to for advice on their health – from questions about the use of medicines to everyday health and prevention needs. Therefore, alongside the availability and range of medicines and other healthcare products, the pharmacist plays a particularly important role. This is why “Mēness aptieka” places strong emphasis on employees’ professional development, supports continuing education and fosters a working environment where professional growth can be balanced with wellbeing and family life. From the company’s perspective, a positive customer experience at the pharmacy is closely linked to the people who provide pharmaceutical care every day. Investment in employees’ knowledge and professional development is therefore also an investment in service quality and professional care for customers.

As people’s everyday habits continue to evolve, “Mēness aptieka” continues to enhance the customer experience by exploring new ways to be closer and more accessible to people in their everyday health needs. This means not only maintaining an extensive pharmacy network across Latvia, but also introducing new solutions that make pharmacy visits more convenient and faster, while making services accessible in a wider range of everyday situations.

In 2026, “Mēness aptieka” has introduced several new solutions to Latvia’s pharmacy sector. These include offline payment capabilities, allowing customer service to continue even during connectivity disruptions; self-service checkouts at several pharmacies; and, in the autumn, a new solution for the Latvian pharmacy market – self-service retail points for healthcare products. These solutions help “Mēness aptieka” remain accessible in places and at times when a traditional pharmacy may not be available.

“Our ambition is always to go one step further so that “Mēness aptieka” is closer to people and even more accessible. We not only monitor how people’s habits and needs are changing, as well as the new healthcare products and innovations entering the market, but also actively seek out and introduce new solutions that enhance the pharmacy experience. We want people to know that whenever they need advice, medicines or healthcare products, “Mēness aptieka” is always there for them, providing professional support,” says Jeļena Petrišina.

“Mēness aptieka” ensures broad access to medicines and healthcare products through its pharmacies across Latvia and regularly implements health prevention and social responsibility initiatives aimed at improving health literacy, increasing the number of healthy life years and supporting different groups within society. More than 1,500 people work at “Mēness aptieka” pharmacies across Latvia, providing high-quality and accessible pharmaceutical care every day.
