"Centrālā laboratorija" has received the Latvian Medical association “Medical award of the year 2025” in the category “Medical event of the year 2025” for establishing in Riga the most advanced automated laboratory in the Baltics.
“Recognition from medical professionals is a significant acknowledgement of our team’s professionalism and contribution. It confirms that in Latvia we are implementing world-class technologies and solutions in medicine and diagnostics, ensuring high-quality patient care. As a private laboratory, our investments in new technologies contribute to the overall development of the healthcare sector in Latvia and enhance its international competitiveness, while also creating a foundation for the advancement of science and innovation. We are grateful to the Latvian Medical association for recognising and valuing the work and contribution of the "Centrālā laboratorija" team,” emphasised Zane Kaktiņa, chairwoman of the board of SIA “Centrālā laboratorija”.
The new automated laboratory, inaugurated on 7 May 2025, represents one of the most significant private-sector investment projects in Latvia’s healthcare sector in recent years, with a total investment of €4.2 million. The automation solutions implemented at "Centrālā laboratorija" have significantly increased testing capacity, reduced turnaround times for results, and enabled the allocation of additional resources towards the development and introduction of new diagnostic tests.
In addition, "Centrālā laboratorija" serves as a training base for Riga Stradiņš University and contributes to the training of medical residents from University of Latvia. In the past year, the company supported the education and professional development of more than 700 young medical specialists by providing both theoretical and practical training, as well as internship placements.
"Centrālā laboratorija" continues to expand its operations across Latvia, delivering laboratory services through more than 115 branches and 13 testing laboratories, thereby enhancing access to high-quality diagnostic services in both major cities and regional areas.
