Dentist Ģirts Bīriņš from Veselības centru apvieniba (VCA) “Smaida clinic” was awarded the “Dentist of the Year 2024” award at the Annual Medical Awards ceremony organized by the Latvian Medical Association.

“We would like to thank the doctor for his careful work, which has been highly appreciated by his patients and colleagues. This award is important for all of us, because together we take care of the health of patients in Latvia by providing a wide range of outpatient services, including dental services,” says VCA board member Solvita Babre-Samata.

“I am very pleased and grateful for the high recognition from our patients. It is a great inspiration to continue caring for them, together with my colleagues. Dentistry is a profession very close to my heart — I feel a deep sense of belonging, and it is always rewarding to help in a way that encourages our clients to return to us for advice and care,” said Ģirts Bīriņš upon receiving the award.

Ģirts Bīriņš has been practicing in the UK for several years, gaining valuable experience in various treatment methods, which he now successfully applies in his work. He continues to learn and is a supportive and understanding colleague, especially helping young dentists start their careers and devoting a lot of effort to the professional development of young colleagues.

The Latvian Medical Association has been organizing the “Annual Medical Award” since 2008. The award is presented in 15 nominations, and several additional special awards are granted for significant contribution to medicine in Latvia.
