The company reported revenue of €305.8 million for the year and contributed €22.78 million in taxes to the state budget.**

The company’s operations in 2025 were significantly affected by both geopolitical developments and fluctuations in international supply chains, as well as the medicine pricing reform introduced on 1 January 2025. Under the new regulations, a fixed mark-up of €0.50 applies to each pack of prescription medicines, regardless of its price. In many cases, this does not cover the costs of supplying these medicines in practice, making it necessary for the company to reassess its existing operating model and improve efficiency.

In response to market changes, “Recipe Plus” reviewed its internal processes, expanded its supplier network and developed new business segments. In line with the growth of e-commerce and international trade, the company added more than 7,000 new products and 52 new suppliers to its portfolio during the year. The company also began distributing professional cosmetics and signed a new agreement to represent a dermocosmetics brand across the Baltic states.

> “As a result of the medicine pricing reform, the distribution of prescription medicines has become significantly more challenging, as the fixed mark-up no longer covers actual logistics and supply costs in many cases. This had a substantial impact on our profitability in 2025 and accelerated the need to adapt our operating model. This is also reflected in our financial results, as we closed the year with a loss. Even under these circumstances, our responsibility is to maintain a stable supply of medicines throughout Latvia while developing a sustainable operating model for the company. We have therefore taken targeted steps to improve efficiency, expand our product categories, develop new business segments and invest €20 million in a new logistics centre. These measures enable us to diversify our revenue streams and strengthen the company’s competitiveness without compromising our core mission: ensuring the safe and uninterrupted availability of medicines in Latvia,” **says Mantas Jurkus, Chairman of the Management Board of AS “Recipe Plus”.**

He emphasises that strengthening the company’s competitiveness goes hand in hand with substantial investment in Latvia’s critical pharmaceutical supply infrastructure.

> “We are a 100% Latvian-owned private company, which means that the value we create is reinvested in Latvia – in critical pharmaceutical supply infrastructure, technology and the availability of medicines. Our ambition is to compete with the largest international market players in terms of efficiency, technology, product range and logistics, while strengthening infrastructure of strategic importance to Latvia. The investment in our new logistics centre is the next step towards ensuring the uninterrupted availability of medicines and medical supplies throughout the country over the long term, while also expanding our operations across the Baltics,” **says Jurkus.**

“Recipe Plus’s” most significant development project is a new automated logistics centre for medicines and medical supplies in Riga, representing an investment of €20 million. It is one of the largest private investments in Latvia’s pharmaceutical logistics infrastructure and will increase warehouse capacity, automate goods handling, and improve the efficiency and security of deliveries. The new centre is scheduled to become operational in the second quarter of 2027.

*AS “Recipe Plus” offers a portfolio of more than 17,000 products, including medicines, food supplements, medical supplies, cosmetics and other pharmaceutical products. The company works with more than 400 manufacturers worldwide and delivers products daily to over 3,000 customers, including pharmacies, healthcare institutions and social care centres. Its team comprises nearly 300 professionals across various fields, ensuring an uninterrupted supply of medicines and medical supplies throughout Latvia seven days a week.*","article-body.text
168,[19
"/uploads/large_Recipe_publicitatei_2_bbff26000f.jpg",900,600,"article-body.image
/en/news/recipe-plus-expands-operations-with-20-million-investment-in-next-generation-pharmaceutical-logistics","/jaunumi/recipe-plus-paplasina-darbibu-un-investe-20-miljonus-eiro-nakamas-paaudzes-farmacijas-logistika",[
30,33
News","news
1791544178199]
